Rachael Atkinson is a proud co-owner of Destination Havasu, a full-service real estate company that has been helping clients BUY | SELL | STAY | PLAY in Lake Havasu City for nearly 30 years. Known for her dedication, expertise, and passion for the industry, Rachael has been instrumental in shaping Destination Havasu into one of the most trusted names in local real estate and vacation rentals.
Her real estate journey began in Carlsbad, California, where she worked as a Customer Service Representative for Western Pacific Housing. She later transitioned to Brookfield Homes in Del Mar, where she gained valuable experience in the Options, Purchasing, and Interior Design Departments. This broad industry exposure gave her a well-rounded understanding of real estate, from property development to client customization, which she continues to apply in her work today.
In 2005, Rachael made the move back to her hometown of Lake Havasu City, where she joined Destination Havasu the following year. Since then, she has played a key role in expanding the company, bringing a forward-thinking approach to both real estate sales and vacation rentals. She leads the company’s Vacation Rental Division, helping to make Destination Havasu one of the most recognized and talked-about vacation rental providers in the area.
Beyond real estate, Rachael is deeply involved in the community. She serves as an Executive Board Member of Go Lake Havasu, the official tourism bureau for Lake Havasu City, where she plays an active role in promoting the area as a premier destination for visitors. Her involvement in local tourism strengthens her commitment to showcasing the best that Lake Havasu has to offer—whether through homeownership, investment opportunities, or unforgettable vacation stays.
Giving back is also a core part of Rachael’s life. Every year, her family and local offroad leaders organizes SXS 4 Seniors, a charity event that brings Christmas cheer to local nursing homes in Lake Havasu. Through this heartfelt initiative, they spread holiday joy by delivering gifts, hosting festive celebrations, and ensuring that local seniors feel loved and remembered during the holiday season.
Rachael credits her strong work ethic and client-first mentality to her mother, whose dedication to hard work and integrity served as an inspiration. Whether she’s helping a first-time homebuyer, assisting an investor, or ensuring guests have an incredible stay in Lake Havasu, Rachael is committed to delivering exceptional service and making every real estate experience seamless and enjoyable.
After moving back to Lake Havasu in 2007 Brooke accepted the 4th-grade teaching position at Jamaica Elementary. As Destination Havasu continued to grow Brooke made the choice to leave teaching but has stayed actively involved with the LHUSD.
Along with helping build Destination Havasu into the successful company it is today, Brooke is the President of the Havasu Sting Rays Swim Team and LHAR School Supply Drive and helped to raise over $30,000 for our local schools. In her spare time (not sure where she finds the time) my sister is dedicated to fitness and loves to work out, travel the world and she makes a mean cupcake (ask anyone).
Brenda Atkinson was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and her family moved to the United States in 1964. She began her career with Mervyns Department Stores in 1968, where she quickly established herself as a capable and dedicated professional. Retiring as a District Manager for Mervyns in Southern California in 1988. In 1989, she relocated to Lake Havasu City, where she found new opportunities and embraced the vibrant community.
Excited to embark on a new career path, Brenda became a real estate agent in 1990. Her strong leadership skills and dedication to client service have driven her success in the real estate industry, making her a trusted and respected professional in the Lake Havasu community.
Brenda is deeply committed to giving back to her community. She takes pride in participating in the annual Lake Havasu Senior Clean Up, and has headed up the annual Lake Havasu School Supply Drive and the Realtor Olympics. Her dedication to these initiatives reflects her passion for supporting the people and causes close to her heart.
In her personal life, Brenda enjoys traveling the scenic Oregon Coast and exploring Lake Powell. She cherishes time spent with her family and loves boating on the beautiful waters of Lake Havasu.
